Over the past couple of years, autumn has slowly, but surely become my favourite season. I love the vibrant colours, wrapping up warm and not to mention enjoying plenty of hot chocolates.
If you follow Ellen Writes Stuff on Instagram, then you might have noticed that I’ve been posting plenty of autumn based piccys.
In my opinion, this is the perfect time of the year to get out with your loved ones and enjoy some fresh air. I know the weather is cooler, but that is no excuse to miss out on this gorgeous season. Here are my top tips of what you should do this autumn:
Go forth and explore
Whether you go to a National Park, a heritage site or a walk by the river, there are plenty of places around the UK where you can enjoy many magnificent views. One of my favourite places to visit is Benningbrough Hall and Gardens, which is on the outskirts of York – there is plenty to do there, whether you are a family, couple or group of friends. For those who are green-fingered, then you can join one of the site’s garden tours and find out more about their enchanting surroundings.
Gather up autumn treasures
Collecting leaves, conkers and other pretty objects, isn’t just for children. I am a sucker for finding things and putting them in the garden. My latest obsession has been collecting sea shells and scattering the around my plants, not only does it make my flowers look pretty, but it always keeps the snails and slugs away, as they don’t like the texture of them. Now it is autumn I am on the pursuit for acorns to add some extra colour to my back garden.
Book an adventure day
It’s always great to try something new with your loved ones, whether its horse riding, a sky wire challenge or evening staying in a tree house for the night. Regardless of the season, most activities can be enjoyed throughout the year, meaning you can make the most of your time with your friends and family.
