Post six – Five activities to do on the beach

In a couple of months’ time summer will be here and we will all be heading off the beach to enjoy some much deserved beach time. Here are five things which you should get up to whether you’re an adult or a child:

Shell collecting

If you are looking to keep entertained on the beach, then set yourself a challenge by trying to find some of the most beautiful shells on the beach. Not only will this give you the opportunity to keep yourself occupied, but the shells you collect will make great souvenirs – you could even use the shells to get creative when you get home, for example to make a shell necklace or picture frame.

Draw a picture in the sand

Looking to keep the little ones entertained or fancy getting competitive with a family member or friend? Then work together by creating a personalised drawing and then taking a picture of your masterpiece. Alternatively, if you are looking to get competitive then enjoy a friendly game of noughts and crosses?

Build a sand castle

No trip to the beach is complete without building a sandcastle! Building a sandcastle or two is the perfect activity for family or friends to get involved in and the more elaborate you can make the design – the better!

Search for places of interest

Most beaches are usually situated close to numerous places of interest, including lighthouses, rock pools and beach houses. To make things more exciting, why not try and count how many boats you can spot or see who can collect the most sea weed in a limited space of time!

Relax

If none of the above tickles your fancy, then bring your sun cream, towel and book and kick back, relax and simply enjoy being in beautiful surroundings – after all you are on holiday!
